Shane Ryan opened the scoring for the home side after 15 minutes. The visitors equalised just on halftime, 1-1.
Deren Aksoy made it 2-1 after 5 minutes of the second half. A very even 2nd half gave chances for both sides. Askeaton got a third through Aksoy again midway through the half. Shannonside pulled a goal back 5 minutes from time to leave a very nervy finish for the home team.

Great Performance from the lads this morning. We started the game strong but St Itas scored a great goal, we quickly responded with a goal from Kevin Barry who was brilliant on the left wing. Niall Barry scored a brilliant goal with a wonderful strike after Matt played a great pass. St Itas made it level with a long range strike. Then stepped up Sam Duggan with a beautiful free kick off the cross and into the net to make to 3-2. We sealed the win with a quick corner, worked well between Sam and Matt and Sam hit a powerful strike into the side of the net to make it 4-2. Everyone played well, and the defence was solid today.
