Saturday 19th November
The Rathkeale House Hotel U12 Girls Askeaton 1-0 Kilcolman Rvs
Hailey Ashton
1-0 win for the girls last Saturday 19th in really tough conditions. Hailey with the goal set up by Samantha. Brilliant work rate and effort from all the girls to get that win against a really tough Kilcolman team. That result keeps the girls top of the table. Super stuff. Keep it going girls.

The Kostal Group U14 Girls Div 2
Rathkeale 2-1 Askeaton

Youths Division 3
Rathkeale AFC 1-2 Askeaton AFC (1-0 HT)
Aron Kelly
Arron McCarthy
Great 3 points on Saturday for the lads but they made hard work of it against a young Rathkeale side, we went 1 nil down early in the first half and still trailing at half time. A change of formation and a few positions in the second half, the boys battled away and the first goal came from Aron Kelly after some great team work. This opened up the game again. The boys started playing great football, getting up the wings and putting in great crosses. Just when it was looking like we’d be sharing the points Arron McCarthy scored the winner from a corner in the last 5 minutes to secure all 3. This win puts us top of the table with 9 points. Tough call for man of the match but it has to go to Luke Kelly, he played a stormer of a game and never gave up.
Team: Cathal Guerin, Daniel Ruane, Luke Kelly, Aaron Mulcahy, Stephen Maune, Evan Costello, Thomas McCarthy, Michael James Harty, Tyrique Harte, Sam Harty, Aron Kelly, Arron McCarthy, Christopher Sheehy, Conor Purcell, Cathal Moran, Aidan Fogarty.
Sunday 27th November
Weekly Observer Division 1
Askeaton AFC 2-4 Newcastle West Town Reserves (2-2 HT)
Pete Harty (2)
Sunday was a powerful start, in the first minute Sean had a one v one saved, after 15 minutes we were 2 nil up with two fine goals from Pete but unfortunately we gave away a soft penalty and Newcastle scored. We conceded another one before halftime. We had a few more decent chances but couldn’t score and Newcastle scored a great goal to put them 3-2. Newcastle went down to 10 men but sat back, kept one man up top and he was the man to make it 4-2. They got another man sent off but held out. Frustrating day in the office, it looked like it was gonna be to be 5 or 6 to us but credit to Newcastle for battling on. This is just another learning curve for a talented young team. A special mention to Aiden Forgarty who was brilliant in goal today.
Team: Aidan Fogarty, Cormac O’ Keeffe, Kevin Barry, Caolan Rushe, Colum Sweeney, Sam Duggan, Stephen Smith, Ray Kelly, Matt Moane, Sean Whelan, Pete Harty, Robbie O’ Gorman, Alan O’ Shaughnessy, Niall Barry, Sam Harty, Jamie Harty, Valentin Veres, Mark Murphy.
