In a game where we were level 3 times but never took the lead, silly mistakes continue to haunt us. 1-2 at halftime, 2 goals each from Shane Ryan and Brooklyn Delahunty weren’t enough as we bow out of the Desmond Cup

Very dominant performance from the lads, we had loads of chances. We went down one nil from a penalty but we kept creating chances and Jeff was quickest to the ball after a great strike from Stephen Smith. Shane Long sealed the win in the last minute with a great finish inside the box.

Monday 18th April
Ladies League Division 1
Breska Rovers B 1-0 Askeaton
Our ladies were very unlucky this evening going down 1-0 to Breska. The only goal of the game was scored very early from the penalty spot. We had most of the possession but unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net.

ASKEATON AFC 50/50 SPLIT THE POT!!
Our Split the Pot draw was held last Tuesday, April 12 in the clubhouse. The winner of €179 was Clodagh Tuohy.

Split the Pot is our weekly fundraiser for Askeaton Football Club. You can enter by writing your name and contact number on the envelope and place your €2 into the envelope. The envelope should be placed into one of the buckets located in SuperValu, Centra, Askeaton Post Office, Top of the Town Bar, Cagney’s Bar, Shanahan’s Shop, Boss Barbers, Brian Collins Bookmakers, Moran’s Hardware, Askeaton Soccer Pitch. You can also enter online at www.askeatonafc.ie The draw is held every Tuesday evening. Half of the money entered into the draw is given in prize money and the other half goes towards funding activities for our club.
